We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic (certification holding) School Library Media Specialist. You will play a vital role in supporting library operations and providing assistance to library patrons and school staff. Makerspace (PreK-2), and Digital Citizenship (Grade 3) experience a plus. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about education and literacy.
Duties:
-Teaching, cataloging and organizing library materials.
- Help patrons locate and check out books, magazines, and other resources.
- Provide guidance and support to patrons in using learning technology and online resources, and digital citizenship.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and implement educational programs and activities.
- Assist with classroom management during library programs for students.
- Support behavior management strategies to ensure a positive and safe environment for all patrons.
- Communicate effectively with library staff, students, and parents.
Skills:
- Experience working with students in a classroom or educational setting
- Knowledge of learning technology and its application in an educational environment
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to educate and engage children in literacy education
- Proficiency in cataloging library materials (Follett)
